The 2011 FCIAC Champion Staples Wreckers (11-1) ran into an immovable object in the Xavier Falcons (12-0) on Saturday night at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. The final score was 42–7 in favor of Xavier, who ends the year as the #146 ranked team in the nation per Max Preps. Xavier avenged their 2009 loss to Staples in the Class LL Semi-finals when the Wreckers won 31-28. The Wreckers end the season ranked #4 in the state per Max Preps. Congratulations to the seniors who capped off a tremendous career with an FCIAC Championship and a deep run in the state tournament.
The end of year banquet is on Sunday the 18th – we hope to see all there.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
